A note about Christian Counseling
I consider myself a Christian who does counseling. That means I am aware of Christian values and try to respect your religious tradition. It also means that I don't believe in the power of crystals to influence you, or put a lot of stock in astrological signs. But I may also challenge some of your religious beliefs if I find them getting in the way of you having a good life or interfering with your relationship with others. And I will certainly try to understand your spiritual journey as it differs from mine.
Spiritual values are often a part of the mystery of healing and getting better. But I am not the kind of counselor that will quote the Bible to teach you or make you feel guilty or whip you into shape. But I am more than willing and feel comfortable to discuss your religious values and how they impact your life. But most likely you will need to bring up the issues, rather than think I will do it for you.
I like hearing about how God has worked in your life to help you, and what it is like when you feel lost, abandoned or hurt. And some people may have used religion to hurt you, rather than help you.
I am not much into judging people, especially if they are in a journey of becoming the best they can be. I don't feel called to change a person's sexual orientation, or condemn past behavior. Life is a spiritual journey, and I am willing to walk with you on that journey.
