I was fortunate to attend a workshop with Dr. Ross Greene on January 7, 2012. 

He is the author of  The Explosive Child and more recently, Lost at School: Why our Kids with Behavioral Challenges are Falling Through the Cracks and How We Can Help Them. 

I find his approach more helpful than most others. 

I discovered that he has an amazing website that offer almost everything for free.  However, there is so much it is a bit overwhelming at first. Dr. Greene calls his approach Collaborative Problem Solving (CPS).

There are not many things that can be guaranteed in life, but I am fairly certain that if you take the time to listen to Dr. Greene, and then take time to listen to your child to find out where they get stuck, you and your child's life will be much more enjoyable.
